The Seed Freedom Food Festival is fast approaching – 26/9 at The Market Shed on Holland – and anyone wanting to volunteer on the day or at tomorrow night’s get-together at the Adelaide Bike Kitchen are more than welcome!
Last Monday was our first volunteer night, around 40 of us worked hard preparing signs, decorations, clay pots, badges, bags and t-shirts; however, I shall blog about the fun we had next week. Until then I will share the vegan biscuit recipe I prepared for our shared dinner.
I had been saving this fabulous jar of peach and hazelnut spread from Hughsli for something special and decided volunteer night was a great opportunity to use it. I made jam drops based on Like a Vegan’s Fig Jam Drop recipe.
I used Nuttelex rather than vegan margarine and macadamia milk rather than soy. And of course, the fab peach and hazelnut spread instead of jam.
They were really tasty and I shall definitely make them again. The photo shows the range of sweets on offer last Monday, plus some of our fellow volunteers. Dinner was pretty special too with lots of home grown produce, mushroom soup, dips, crackers, home made bread and sour dough, spanakopita, lentil stew and much more.
So if you would like to join in the fun, and you are in Adelaide, come along to the bike kitchen tomorrow night 🙂
