I had just sat down at the computer to write my usual Sunday evening blog post when the first rumble of thunder rolled in. As it was nearing sunset Jamie and I spontaneously decided to go to the beach to watch the storm. The sunset was glorious!

And the storm was fabulous! Bolts and bolts of lightning all across the sea accompanied by giant cracks of thunder and a little rain. Here are a few of the amazing lightning shots we managed to take in lieu of my usual garden post!

As the sun sank the rain increased but the lightning went on for at least an hour.

My favourite shot has Jamie in the water watching the sky.

About A Kailyard in Adelaide

A Kailyard in Adelaide! We are working hard to be domestically sustainable in the foothills of Adelaide. As we both work fulltime this is not an easy task, but we do our best growing much of our own produce in our yard and in our community garden plots. We reduce, recycle and reuse as much as possible and try hard to not consume mindlessly. We have 5000 l of rainwater, a 5 kw solar system, and use a green energy provider for all our excess needs. Rachel: Mother, partner, teacher, writer, reader, crafter, cook, gardener, artist. Jamie: Father, partner, lecturer, therapist, would-be-politician, gardener, photographer, music lover.

  1. Great photos and acts of bravery… while I was just hiding under the covers 🙂

  2. Rachel and Jamie says:

It was spectacular, though the thunder was a little scary 🙂
